The eye slits allowed the soldier visibility of the battlefield. The model 8 was produced by the Ford Motor Company starting November 1918. With the signing of the Armistice treaty, the Model 8 was never used in the field of combat during WW1.
Helmet remains in remarkable condition. The visor is fully functional, and the inner liner and chinstrap is present and intact. Excellent to near mint condition.
