1918 ELGIN BLACK STAR TRENCH WATCH. Extremely RARE Illinois Giant 14kt DB stock Barrel Case. BEAUTIFUL CONDITION FOR A 100+ YEAR OLD TIMEPIECE! ALL ORIGINAL CASE, DIAL, AND MOVEMENT. VERY RARE Date stamped black Star Dial.
Stamp was too worn to recognize date. No cracks dial, 1918 4th design version.
Original steel reservoir spade hand set. Movement : Elgin Model 2 3/0s 7 jewels circa 1918.Movement was disassembled, cleaned ultrasonically, oiled using Moebius synthetic watch oils, new Blue Steel Mainspring installed. Winds, Runs in all 6 Positions, running for over 24hrs at the time of listing and its keeping good time. However, Iam NOT a professional just a hobbyist so I will NOT say the watch is serviced and Performance is NOT guaranteed. Very Rare 3/0 Illinois Barrel case. Giant grade 14kt gold plated.
Original crown, lugs, and riveted spring bars. 33.5mm in diameter without crown, one of the largest made for a 3/0 by an American Case co. The lugs were slightly bent in. Originally these were about 19-20mm apart.
Some wear on case and minor corrosion on case back. Some small areas of gold plating worn on bezel.Featuring one of my very own handmade horween leather bands. READ AND UNDERSTAND THE FOLLOWING.
