ANOTHER EXTREMELY RARE AND TREMENDOUS MILITARY WATCH FIND FROM ANTIQUETIMEONLINE!! A GORGEOUS RARE 1912 VERY EARLY 15 JEWEL GENUINE QUALITY OMEGA RARE EARLY MILITARY SOLID 925 ENGLISH STERLING SILVER GENUINE LIEUTENANT COLONELS TRENCH WATCH IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. This is a brief outline of Henry Holdsworth Wayman's military career. There seem to be be lots of details that can still be researched by someone who has more time than me!

His date of death is recorded as the 15th August 1933. I cannot find a date of birth. He was the son of William Henry Wayman from Halifax West Yorkshire UK. Prior to enlisting in the army his father set up a business in 1895 called'Wayman & Sons & Co Worsted Coating Manufacturers and made him a director. It seems that not long after that, Henry joined the 3rd Battalion of the Duke of Wellingtons Regiment and is listed as being promoted from 2nd Lieutenant to the rank of Lieutenant in 1896.

In 1903 he is listed as attaining the rank of Major with the Duke of Wellingtons (West riding Regiment) In 1910 he is then listed at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel with the 3rd Battalion of the Duke of Wellingtons Regiment. On the 8th of October 1916 he is listed as being on attachment to the 9th Battalion of the Kings Liverpool Regiment in France to instruct in trench warfare. He received an Order of the British Empire in 1919 for Distinguished Service and looks to have retired in 1922. THIS IS HIS ACTUAL SOLID SILVER OMEGA TRENCH WATCH THAT HE OWNED. FULLY SERVICED AND READY TO WEAR.

This is an absolutely beautiful and lovely condition 4 piece genuine solid HIGH GRADE 925 STERLING SOLID SILVER DOUBLE HINGED with dust cover watch case. The case is in good condition, showing no major wear to the case back.

This lovely watch case has an Engraving to it which says'LT COLONEL H. WAYMAN' 3RD BATT DUKE OF WELLINGTONS REGT'. The SOLID SILVER wire lugs look to have had only one old repair. The inside of the case is beautifully marked with hallmarks for 925 solid silver WITH THE SPONSORS MARK is L. Which is for Louis Weill for Weill & Co.

Who were retailers and importers of high end quality watch products at this time. The case is fully hallmarked for English sterling silver and has London Assay office marks with a date letter for 1912. The dustcover shows a ding. The case measures 3.2cms (32mm) across.

It is of excellent quality and a good weight as you would expect for a quality watch. This is a fantastic lovely original bright white dial.

The dial is in excellent condition and is showing a few slight hairlines on the dial edges but nothing too detrimental. All of the BEAUTIFUL BLACK painted Arabic numerals are crisp and sharp, as is the lovely red twelve. The dial has a gorgeous black painted outer minute track.

The minute and hour hands are blued steel which look to be in good condition with some light oxidisation. The crystal is a plexi replacement. It is in excellent condition showing no wear marks. This is a wonderful genuine high grade OMEGA 15 jewels 3/4 plate movement.

It is unsigned which is correct. Under the dial the watch is stamped with the Official'OMEGA' mark.

This fantastic movement is in good working order and has just BEEN FULLY SERVICED by my watchmaker. The movement photos have been taken on my watchmakers bench while it was being serviced! I have timed it over 24 hours and keeps good time to within a few mins a day. It is manual wind and pin set. All in all this is a beautiful high quality original OMEGA movement.

The crown is white metal in color and although period it may be a replacement from new. This beautiful timepiece is fitted with a brand new 12mm extra long black leather band. It has a white metal buckle. This is an absolutely fantastic band to this gorgeous watch!! The watch and band measure just over 9 inches in total length.

THIS IS A LOVELY OMEGA TRENCH WATCH SHOWING VERY LITTLE WEAR BUT A REALLY GREAT RARE BRITISH HISTORICALLY TRACEABLE MILITARY ITEM! I describe all of my items to the best of my knowledge. You may only return an item if there was a MAJOR mistake made by me in the description of the item that I have overlooked. Please do not waste anyones time if you are not interested.
