Antique Vintage Old pre WW1 pre WW2 Australian Army 9th Light Horse saddle Anzac

Leather is still quite supple but darkened with age. However, it is WONDERFULLY stamped with various units - some stampings are worn and faded, but still readable.

It has certainly seen service as it is stamped variously (see photos). WT Weeks, Sydney 1911 arrow (Makers mark and a nice early, pre-WW1 example). C 9LH This stamp on the LHS rear numnah panel leather. Signifying it was issued sometime to the 9th Light Horse Regiment - this is what it appears to be but can't be certain. 13 BTY CFA (This stamp is on both leg panels). YMB (On seat) - Yeomanry Mounted Brigade?

There are no stirrups or stirrup leathers, and as you will see in the photos, the stitching has deteriorated with age to the point that the seat panel and rear tree panel have been temporarily stitched with wire ties until restitching was planned. However, this will be up to you now whether you want to do this. A marvellous example of an original fixed tree BUP mounted troops saddle, and nicely dated 1911. A marvellous item of scarce Light Horse memorabilia.

Can be mailed all OK, weighs approx 7kg and package will be relatively large.
