Offered is a First World War era 1827 Pattern British Rifle Officer's Sword, attributed to Lieutenant J. Hill, of the 8th (Post Office Rifles) London regiment. Sword features a pierced nickel guard, with strung bugle and crown motif, with full chequered back strap. The wire bound fish skin grip is in very good condition with all wire present.The 83cm long, straight blade shows royal crowns & cypher (King George V) with laurels & strung bugle etchings, the blade being in in a very good to excellent condition overall. Maker marked for Wilkinson Sword of London and numbered 56109 to spine. The leather service scabbard is in good condition, with no spine damage or stitching loss.
