German Bavarian Civil Service Sword In Treue Fest WW1
This is a good example of a German Bavarian Civil Service Sword that dates from the late 19th to early 20th Century. It is wearing a lovely straight blade that measures 30 5/8 inches in length that remains nice with only some light surface staining and continues to wear all of its beautiful etching which includes "IN TREUE FEST" on either side. The guard is beautifully detailed with a crown with wreath leaves upon on the guard face and a simple but elegant pommel. The fishskin covered hilt remains very healthy and tight and with its original twisted wire wrap tightly in place. The brass fitted leather scabbard has survived in very healthy condition as well with all its stitching and staples secure. Overall measuring 37 1/4 inches in length.
