Lithgow SMLE No1 Mk3 WW1 WW2 Marksman Rifle Target Aperture Sight And Mount With mounting screws. This rear aperture sight for a No1 Mk3 was used on an Australian Marksman Rifle which was the precursor of the scoped HT sniper rifle. The rifles were fitted with heavy profile barrels to assist in accuracy. The mount/base of these sights were made here in Australia at the Lithgow Arms Factory and fitted with BSA target sights for Marksman shooters during the war. When not in use, the sight is able to be folded down while on the rifle.
