Original Interwar 1924 Pattern British RAF Fly Officers Mess Dress uniform Complete with named medal bar named to Indian and. My believe as well as others is that this gentlemen was a Indian in the Indian Rifles early in his military career and then transferred to the RAF. I have no way to be certain of this since I cannot find and names or markings on the tunic but I was able to find that the war medal is marked along the rim.
I have been informed that although it was fairly common during the Boer War to swap units mid-war the medals were often marked to the original unit because that is were the paperwork starts. Uniform features a wonderful exterior with minimal signs of damage. And epaulets and comes complete with gold wire braided Indian (I believe).
Interestingly, there is a faint outline of the RAF pilot wings that appeared to have been removed at some point. There is a faint outline where the stitching used to be it looks like. The interior has a nice silk quilted linking that appears to be complete and one.
It has some tears, rips, and stains. Complete with matching original buttons and two bottom button snaps. Has both hooks for the collar and a hook for the crossbelt. Tunic appears to be on the smaller/medium size. 1939-45 Star (back and rims are blank).
(back and rims are blank). Defense medal (Nothing on rim).
War Medal (Named on rim) 25152 RFN.
