PRE WWI GERMAN S98 MAUSER SAWBACK BAYO-C. G. HAENEL SUHL 1905

Very good condition and guaranteed original pre WWI Imperial German S98 Mauser sawback bayonet that is maker marked C. HAENEL SUHL on the blade and dated 1905 on the spine. Blade has original bright finish with some scattered brown and gray. Edge was lightly sharpened, saw teeth are sharp and crisp.

Remaining metal finish is mostly brown. Fitted in correct original, and scarce steel scabbard that has original black paint showing wear and flaking to brown and a few dents. Bayonet is also complete with original leather frog that is soft and supple with tight stitching and rivets and has some flaking on the edges. Frog has correct original troddel (knot) attached that shows some staining, no damage. Troddel has colors for Company 6 of an Infantry Regiment or Battery 5 of a Foot Artillery Regiment.
