Pre Wwi Imperial German Model 1871 Mauser Sawback Bayo-kirschbaum 1876

Good condition and guaranteed original pre WWI Imperial German Model 1871 Mauser sawback bayonet that is maker marked W. KIRSCHBAUM SOLINGEN on the left side blade ricasso and dated 1876.

Bayonet is unit marked R. On the left side of the guard for issue to a Reserve Landwehr Regiment. Blade has gray and brown metal finish and was sharpened long ago. Saw teeth are sharp and crisp.

Edge has a few tiny dings. Guard has mostly bright and gray metal finish. Brass grip has smooth even color and shows some wear. Lock button and leaf spring function fine. Fitted in correct original leather scabbard that has brass throat and tip.

Staples are nice and tight. Scabbard has a matching unit marking on the throat to that on the bayonet. A rare Model 1871 Mauser sawback bayonet with matching unit markings that will make a fine advanced addition to your collection.
