The knife shows a little use but is still in excellent condition especially for being so rare. Most of the 1917s had 7 pyramids at the handguard, but there were a few that made it out with an extra pyramid From my research I have come to find out it was when a new employee took over the stamping machine the rolled the pyramids onto the handguard. Apparently there was a correct way to feed them into the roller and this guy did it backwards causing the extra pyramid to be stamped. Comes in a correct and original Jewell 1918 leather tube scabbard. The metal tip of the scabbard is missing (1) of the rivets.
