US M1905, RIA 1906 M1903/M1 GARAND BAYONET with M1905 SCABBARD WWI WWII
This is a very nice US Model 1905 bayonet with an M1905 scabbard. The grips are the characteristic walnut with a corrugated finish.
The right ricasso is marked "US", the left is marked R. " over a flaming bomb, over "1906, so this is a very early example. The blade is bright and shiny, appears unblued. It is in excellent condition with only a very few chips which I show in the picture.
The scabbard is an original Model 1905. It is leather over a wood body. It is stamped on the leather R.
A" over "1911" and lower down "H. It has the original style belt hook. There are no other markings. Added a picture of the end of the scabbard. Added pictures of the grips and of an "A" inspection mark just in front of the lug slot on the hilt.
