WW1 Medals Papers 1914 Death Plaque Coldstream Guards Hunts & Essex Connection

Thank you for checking my sales page. WW1 Medals Papers 1914 Death Plaque.

Coldstream Guards Hunts & Essex Connection. This is a collection of papers along with a death plaque and medals. Alfred Wootten of the Coldstream Guards died 1st October 1914 at the age of 29. Alfred was born in Somersham Huntingdonshire (now Cambridgeshire), enlisted in Lincoln and died of his wounds in France and Flanders, 1.

His wife Flo lived in Stansted Mountfitchet, Essex. This collection would be a great research project. Some of the papers may not relate to Alfred but to his family but were all in an envelope with the medals and plaque. Named to Alfred Wootten, no papers, envelope etc. Named on the edge to 6995 Pte A. Comes with no papers / box but a long piece of ribbon which may be original. Not a good print out, seems to show that Alfred should have three medals, the Star is not present. States the qualifying date was 12.8.14.

Including a Field Service Post Card dated 4 SP 14, 1909 wedding wishes postcard, 1905 Xmas card showing a man, Alfred maybe? Including 1939 registration card for an Alfred Frank Wootten possible son?

Arras Bullecourt Flanders 1917 Gale & Polden Christmas card signed Alfred. Letter of condolence regarding Alfreds death. An undated letter from Alfred to his mother regarding whats generally happening to him etc.

Its very hard to read but could be very interesting when fully read. Letter from IWGC regarding cemetery registers. I will leave you to decide; please look at the photos carefully.

I think the general condition is of the medals and death plaque are good used collectable for the age. The papers are in used collectable condition.

There are a lot of creases, bends, folds, tears etc. The Xmas card is in better condition. The IWGC letter has split in two. Screen shots will not be printed and sent. In broken form so I can reply asap.
