WWI Army Distinguished Service Cross Recipient 29th Division AEF Maryland Medals

For your consideration is this remarkable estate lot of effects belonging Sergeant Carl Horseman, WWI Distinguished Service Cross recipient, and member of the "Blue and Grey" 29th Infantry Division, and Maryland's famous 115th National Guard. There are items from Sergeant Horseman's time in Eagle Pass Texas, representing his Mexican Border Service, and his time in Europe during WWI. All items are guaranteed original, and a list of each item pictured can be found below. Please see our other listings for for an extraordinarily rare original lot of photos from Maryland's 115th fighting Poncho Villa, and a couple of large format photos of the 115th before, during, and after their time in France.

This is just a fantastic collection of hard-to-find items from a very sought after WWI unit. Co 1917 Trench knife with excellent "Jewell 1918" sheath.

Blade has some wear, but hey, it's been in combat, so... The reverse is addressed to one "Miss Effa Murphy" of Cambridge, MD by Sergeant Horseman. One 29th Division WWI uniform shoulder patch. Four collar discs - one is a very, very rare "US" "MD" "1" disc that represents Maryland's 1st National Guard. One 115th / 29th Infantry button.

One Maryland National Guard WWI Service Medal hallmarked by famous maker "Blackinton". One WWI Service Medal - appears to be from the 1940's. One Civil War "Grand Army of the Republic" (GAR) Veterans Medal - probably a family piece here - and is being offered with this lot as it was acquired with the rest of the contents of this estate. One Mexican Border Service Medal - appears to be from the 1940's or 1950's. One combo WWI Service/Border Service ribbon bar - this one is from the late teens or early 20's.

Four WWI/Border Serve veteran service buttons. Three are topped with enamel, and all are pristine. One Maryland National Guard uniform button. Strangely, this one is from Maryland's 5th - maybe it was used in a pinch?

Again, it was with the other items, so it's being included here.. One small 1910's or 1920's Maryland Patch, circular. One Mexican Border souvenir Service badge (missing pin in the back).

One Mexican Border Service watch fob with leather band. We intend to sell this lot in its entirety. If it doesn't sell in a few weeks, we will piece it out then.

The original DSC is missing in action. Just thought I'd throw that out there to prevent my inbox from filling up overnight: Please feel free to ask any other questions.
