Wwi German Prussian Infantry Überrock Frock Coat To The 78th Regiment Of Line
Here is a pre-WWI German Überrock infantry frock coat that is in very good condition. The frock is constructed of fine navy-blue material similar to that of the Civil War Federal officers frock coats. It is with a 3-inch red stand-up collar that has 3 closure fastening hooks and is lined in the same blue material as the rest of the coat. The front of the coat is double breasted with 12 flat brass buttons 6 on either side and 4 flat brass buttons on the red piped tails at the rear. The shoulder boards sewn into the shoulders are original Imperial German insignia Infantry Leutnant boards with the gilt metal numerals, 78 attached to each board and secured by the same flat brass buttons as are on the rest of the coat. The stitching holding these boards has started to become undone and would need to be re stitched to fix them securely into place. The interior of the coat has had the lining removed from the body and the sleeves. There is moth damage to parts of the skirt and a ¾ inch moth hole at the left cuff. It remains a fine looking pre-war Imperial frock coat that displays beautifully. The item "WWI GERMAN PRUSSIAN INFANTRY ÜBERROCK FROCK COAT TO THE 78TH REGIMENT OF LINE" is in sale since Wednesday, November 15, 2017.
