WWI M1889 German Prussian Infantry Officers Sword withScabbard

WWI Model 1889 German Prussian Infantry Officers Sword with Scabbard. The fixed guard clamshell and the small piece attached to the grip have the Wilhelm II emblems on them. The guard has a minor wiggle, the rayskin grip shows wear and is 90% complete. The triple strands of twisted wire wrap are mostly complete, the top 3rd of the grip only has a single strand of twisted wire. The leather finger loop is completely missing.

The guard and pommel cap look like they've been painted or polished. The blade is straight, has been sharpened and is extremely sharp, it's clean except for a few very minor age spots, there is some surface rust only on the sharpened edges and on the ricasso area. The black enameled scabbard is solid, no dents, and light paint loss throughout with some surface rust scattered throughout and white paint splatters, there is a possible mark on the drag (you be the judge). Length of the blade measures 30 1/2" (1" wide x 1/4" thick spine), length of the sword is 36 1/2", and overall in the scabbard it is 37 7/8. Check out my other War items!!
