No nicks or chips in the blade. No evidence of excessive sharpening. The knife is marked: SA 1917 & US 47405.
The wooden handles are very nice, a few nicks in the wood. The scabbard is the Correct Canvas Covered Version with the thumb latch hook. These are often times missing with examples of this model knife. Leather tip is intact, not fraying. There is a vintage repair to the leather tip.The canvas has the NGP or Pennsylvania National Guard Markings on the canvas. No markings on the leather. It has the M1910 brass belt hook.
The Scabbard is in Very Nice Condition. These knives have been getting increasing more difficult to find, especially in this condition, and the prices keep going up. Coles Book's "Best of US Military Knives, Bayonets & Machetes" page 28, example #2. This would make a great accessory to add to your WWII collection.
