WWI/WWII Springfield Armory 1918 Marked M1905 1903/M1 Garand Bayonet & Scabbard

30-06 Springfield M1903 / 1903-A3 & M1 Garand. The left ricasso is marked "SA / 1918" around a flaming bomb, the obverse is marked "US 814148". The front of the scabbard throat is marked U. " in flaming bomb, the underside is marked "B / 6 / N.

Description: The blade is 16" long, the OAL is 20 1/2". Overall Condition: The blade is painted black, with some areas worn through exposing Parkerized finishes.

There is visible erosion under the finish, the lower of the guard is bent in, the guard and other metal areas are Parkerized, which is correct for WWII re-issue M1905 bayonets, however the black blade is not original. The scabbard's green painted fiberglass scabbard has a crack at the top right by the throat, there are dings and scrapes on the other surfaces. The wood grip panels are varnished wood, they are not original to WWII production but would have been correct for WWI, they have scrapes and heavy dents.
