Imperial German World War I Pour Le Merite Blue Max Decoration with Oak Leaf. The front reads Pour Le Merite. This is a maltese cross with eagles in the four corners. The upper arm has a Kings crown above with an F below. The top of the fan is maker marked GODET (jeweler) for the manufacturing firm of Godet & Sohn Berlin. It is also marked 800 signifying the silver content of the frame. Has powder blue enamel on both sides. The frame is gold plated silver construction. Includes an Imperial German World War I Oak Leaves award. Measures 3/4 wide by 11/16 tall. The front shows three oak leaves with a vertical oval suspension loop on the back. Also includes the presentation cloth embroidered woven neck ribbon that has three flat silver bullion wire and cotton horizontal strips.

It measures 10 wide by 2 3/16 tall. This type of ribbon signified a second award, as does the oak leaf. This was Germanys highest decoration for gallantry in combat action above and beyond the call of duty during WWI.
