Rare Original WW1 US M1907 Sling For 03 Springfield or M1917 Rossi Saddlery 1917

Offered is an original World War One era production United States military issue Model 1907 leather sling made for use with the 1903 Springfield or Model 1917 rifles. This will also fit an M1 Garand. This sling has the brass claws, as is correct for World War One era M1907s. This sling is marked R-S for manufacture by Rossi Saddlery Co and is dated 1917 and has the faint remains of the inspector initials. It is full length and has never been modified or repaired. I have not cleaned, polished, or treated it. The claw rivets are tight. The leather keepers are absent but are not difficult to find (IMA has quite a few last I checked).

These original slings have become difficult to find, as the repros and fakes greatly outnumber the real ones. It is offered as pictured and shows normal wear and checking, but it is completely intact and remains remarkably supple, especially given that it is over 100 years old. Overall, very good example from a seldom seen maker that will display well on your World War One rifle.
