TRENCH ART VASE WW1 FRENCH Canon 1916 MGM 75 DE C 630 L BX ORNATE MODELE 1897. It is 13 3/4 tall. The base of the piece is very heavy. I think it's an excellent condition. It could use a little better cleaning.

Not sure if the lighter colors of the applied pieces are copper and the rest is brass. Let me know what you think.

It's a beautiful piece. My research shows it's from World War I and is referred to as the French 75 field gun. Circa 1916 to 1917 further research showed 630 probably means the date L means a lot the MGM.

I'm pretty sure it means. The BX supposedly indicates the supplier of the metal.

I could be wrong on some of these things.
