Actually the round aluminum dog tags were issued to Cpl Frank Neider in 1923 I suppose when he became a Cpl and the oval steel are of the later WW2 style with his MCSN 76202. The boxes which originally contained 1st Sgt Neiders Silver Star medal was sent to the Marine Barracks, Naval Air Station (NAS) Pensacola from the Philadelphia quartermaster Depot probably just before WW2 but the award of Silver Star Citation was for actions performed by Private Neider, during WW1, while serving with the 43d Co, Fifth Regiment (Marines) 2nd Division, American Expeditionary Forces, for gallantry in action at Chateau-Thierry, France 6 June to 10 July 1918.
