Order of the British Empire (Military Division) - in Sterling Silver and hallmarked Garrards of London - 1918. 1914 (Mons) Star with Aug 22nd- Nov. 1914 clasp - engraved on the reverse. British War Medal - engraved on the rim. Allied Victory Medal with Mention in Despatches Oak Leaf, (three MIDs awarded), - engraved on the rim. The Medals are in very good condition and the ribbons are all intact and appear to be the original ones issued. They are secured to a metal brooch pin which is in full working order. Included are copies of various documents including Medal Index Card showing he went over to France with the BEF on 18th August 1914, extracts from the London Gazette regarding appointments, promotions, O. Award and MIDs awards and three Mention in Despatches Certificates issued in March 1919 signed by Winston S Churchill, Secretary of State for War. 1 - General Sir Douglas Haig. 2 - Field Marshal Sir Douglas Haig GCB GCVO KCIE dated 15th May 1917.

3 - Field Marshal Sir Douglas Haig KT GCB GCVO KCIE dated 7th April 1918. Colonel Crofton Croker was born on the 4th January 1888 in Dublin into a prominent Anglo-Irish landed gentry family who were awarded land grants during Elizabethan times. They can be traced back to the 13th century in Devon and there is a wealth of information accessible on-line which makes for interesting reading for anyone who has the time.

Croker was one of eight children of. Croker, (Irish Traffic Manager, Great Western Railway of Ireland).
