Colt 1911 Slide WWI Army Early Roman Lettering Rear Pony 1914-1917 Excellent
Colt 1911 Slide, WWI Army, Early with Roman Lettering. The Metal on this is Excellent - Near Mint Condition. No Rust, no Pitting under Finish. There are dings to the Serrations on the Right side, a dent by Ejection port.

The Lettering is all Sharp and deep, Pony is marked very well. You can easily see the Fine Brush Finish (Pre - Black Army of Early 1918 Guns) Blue has been redone, I don't know what happened, my guess is below: This was on a 1919 Colt Army Frame that had been Repaired.

It is Earlier and was likely swapped by an Armory and the whole gun was refinished to match, Most of the Gun had been Re-blued, but none of the parts were polished or altered. It appeared like an Arsenal Rebuild where most of the parts were reblued without stripping old finish off.

The gun had an early 1920s Springfield Barrel in it. Possibly done in the 1920s. The Carbonia Blue finish of the Era is very distinct, this Slide is darker, blacker in appearance. When Ready for invoice, send a request.

PLEASE Read all the information below. With all Used or New Parts, have them inspected and/or installed by a competent Gunsmith.

My Description ratings: Poor - Low - OK - Good - Very Good - Excellent - Near Mint - Unused. If you need more time, Yes, OK, fine with me!

SAME Condition means: No grinding, filing, hammering, beating on, using and abusing, Firing an unfired barrel. In short, Please communicate any problems, before or after!!
