Imperial German WW1 Prussian Infantry Pickelhaube Spike Helmet With Parade Plume

This is an original WW1 era Imperial German Prussian Infantry Regiment officers black lacquer finished leather pickelhaube. Gilt finsihed metal front plate and other metal fixtures. The helmet body is still extremely well formed overall. Some cracks to lacquer finish on right rear of helmet body.

Helmet body appears to be pressed felt. Serrated Reichs and Prussian cockades. Red silk liner with leather sweat band.

Size marked with applied stamp "551/2". Also stamped or numbered on rear rivet of back spine. Correct green and red leather liners for underside of front and rear visors.

Original owners name written on the underside of the rear visor "Hans Weber Leutnant" There is alos something like d. R" followed by "RF 38. Thick full bodied yak hair parade plume fitted to gilt finished shaft. Overall extremely well preserved for an item of this age.
