Antique 1917 Ww1 Solid Silver Military Trench Watch + Silver Flip Up Guard Runs

ANOTHER BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE EXTREMELY RARE SOLID SILVER COLLECTIBLE TRENCH WATCH FROM ANTIQUETIMEONLINE! A GREAT WATCH IN FANTASTIC CONDITION FOR ITS AGE! The 4 piece case to this beautiful watch is solid English Sterling Silver. IT IS A GOOD QUALITY SILVER CASE.

It has a SCREW back which is in excellent order and screws on as it should with no cross threading. The back has no inscriptions and shows light micro scratches from normal age related use. This lovely case is fitted with a FANTASTIC ORIGINAL INTEGRAL TO THE WATCH snap down sprung SOLID SILVER (hallmarked) trench guard.

This is a fabulous part of the watch and is extremely rare as it is tooled to resemble a lucky 4 leaf clover and the leaves are love hearts!! The guard is in excellent condition and works by pushing the button in in between the bottom lug. The hall marks date the watch to 1918 (London).

The inside of the case is stamped for the case sponsor who was AG Rendell. The solid silver lugs are in very good condition. I have gently polished the case and it is shining beautifully, as only hi grade silver can.

THE WATCH MEASURES 3.5cms (35mm) across excluding the lugs and crown. This stunning collectible watch has a fantastic original MINTY white dial. You would expect for a watch of 100 years old that it would have a few hairlines, BUT this dial shows NO hairlines AT ALL!! It has beautiful sharp and crisp Arabic numerals, which are lovely.

The dial has lovely steel'Cathedral' hands. The crystal is made from plastic and as such, it shows some light wear. This is an original jeweled (probably 15) lever movement. It is crown wound and set. It is fully SIGNED by TALIS. The movement is in working order on my desk as I write this.

As always a full service would be recommended for optimum performance and timekeeping. It keeps time to with a couple of minutes a day as tested over 24 hours. This beautiful trench watch is fitted with a brand new 14mm all leather black trench style band for authenticity. The band is in excellent condition. The band measures 9 and a half inches in total length.

THIS IS A GREAT RARE AND EXTREMELY COLLECTIBLE OFFICERS TRENCH WATCH AND ORIGINAL INTEGRAL TRENCH GUARD. THE WATCH IS A FANTASTIC EXAMPLE OF ITS TYPE.
