Antique Fancy German Prussian Infantry World War One WW1 Officers Sword

The fine item you are considering is an Antique German Prussian Infantry World War One WW1 Officers Sword & Scabbard. Please scroll down below this text for more photos. This beautiful antique WW1 German sword measures approximately 40 ½ long overall in the scabbard, with the blade measuring approximately 33 long.

The only other example I've been able to find of this sword was very similar, but much less fancy, as mine has a great deal of work to the outside and inside of the hilt and the butt which the other example was lacking. This leads me to believe that this version may have been issued to a very high ranking officer, as opposed to the less fancy version, which may have been issued to a lower ranking officer. The sword is in excellent antique condition, but does show some typical minor wear to the blade (some minor edge wear) and handle (see photos), but nothing bad, and the sword has obviously been very well cared for. Oh, there is a neatly engraved and not very noticeable serial number engraved on the side of the hilt, which looks to me like it may have been done by a museum, but I'm not sure. Additionally, the ornate hilt folds, which is something I havent seen before. Please see my photos to have a look at this nice item.
