Antique Rolex 9k Gold Genuine 1916 Wwi Officer's Wristwatch #722709

An antique WWI-period officer's Rolex manual wind wristwatch, number 722709. With a solid 9 carat gold case and white porcelain dial with Roman numerals, its movement and case bear full Rolex marks and it has a nicely matching'Apollo' make leather strap. It sets and is fully wound and the balance swings but it won't go - at least one piece is missing from the top or (more likely) has fallen inside, so it will need some attention to get it going. The case is hallmarked London import 1916 and overall it's in passable condition with signs of wear throughout.

A portion of the dial edge is missing and there are hairlines to the centre. It weighs 20.1 grams and its case diameter is 28 mm / 1.1 inches. The final photo shows it with a US penny (1 cent) coin for scale, which measures 19 mm / ¾ of an inch diameter.
