Antique WW 1 US Calvery Saddle Bags

Antique WW 1 US Calvery Saddle Bags. These measure approximately 12x12 each side the handles come up about another 10 inches.

There are three straps and buckles on each side. US marked on one and some numbers on the other(picture 2). There are some holes and the leather is worn. Also the strap needs to be repaired. I don't know if the stitching is original or if someone in the past tried to repair it before.

It has had newspaper inside the bags (dated from the 70's) to keep their shape. The number looks to be 173B1HIOL. But I can't quite make it out.
