These vintage books were originally distributed to U. Soldiers during WWII, making them a cherished relic of American history and military culture. These books are not reprints - they are original wartime issues, printed in a compact horizontal format to fit in a soldier's pocket.
They were created by the Council on Books in Wartime to boost morale and provide education and entertainment on the front lines. Books Marked (STAMPED) include 2 pictures.
One of the cover, and one of the stamp (OR WRITING/SIGNATURE). Most are stamped with "70th SFA Hospital - Special Service". Others have writing from soldiers. Original Armed Services Edition, NOT a reprint.
Printed between 1918 and 1945. Great for military history buffs, vintage book collectors, and educators. Armed Services Editions are more than books - they're cultural artifacts that carried literature, comfort, and ideas to the front lines of war. With printings of some titles limited to just a few thousand, ASEs remain a rare and meaningful collectible today.
