His British War Medal has numbered him as 6862, in accordance with his enlistment form, however his file shows that he was re-numbered to 6862A and this is shown on his Victory Medal. James Parker was 21 year old when he enlisted in April 1917, he was born in Glasgow, Scotland and embarked with the 20th Reinforcements of the 19th Battalion A. He was taken onto the strength of the 35th Battalion A. His record shows that he died from gunshot wounds to the abdomen on 25 May 1918, whilst he was at the 5th Casualty Clearing Station and was buried at the Crouy British Cemetery, Crouy-Sur-Somme.
