During WW1 he served in the RNR and was commissioned. It seems much if his WW1 service was in the risky area of Mine Sweeping.
He was later awarded the RNR LSGC Medal. A nice set, all correctly named. Mounted as worn by him and not played around with. Comes with some copies of service papers but plenty of scope for more research.
