British Wwi Distinguished Service Order In Garrard Case Of Issue

This is an extremely fine First World War George the V Distinguished Service Order in its original case of issue by Garrard in pristine and near mint condition. The enamel on both sides of this piece is flawless. The royal cipher of George the V and the crown that adorns the central portion of the cross is exquisitely executed and exhibits the highest degree of detail and craftsmanship. The Order is suspended from its original ribbon, which is strong, solid and with vibrant color. It retains the original top bar with complete and fully functional pin assembly. The black leatherette case is in excellent condition with functioning hinge and spring button catch. In gold leaf on the top of the lid.

The lower section of the interior of the case is plush navy blue velvet fitted for the Order while the interior lid is of padded white satin. The pad is marked with the royal crown and reads, Garrard & Co.
