WALTHAM WATCH CO' 8 DAY DECK CHRONOMETER 15 JEWEL c1912. This 8 day, 15 Jewel, Chronometer/Deck watch was made by The Waltham Watch Company, Massachusetts. These Chronometers were typically used by the US Navy and US Coast Guard, and were also known as Torpedo Boat Watches. The Serial No: 22132045 dates it to 1912.

The clock face is marked Waltham Watch Co and has an 8 day winding indicator, to show how many days it had to run before needing to be wound again. It also features a Breguet balance spring. The clock mechanism appears to be functioning well, as the indicator is showing the correct amount of time since winding, and the second hand is moving freely.

The silvered dial is 3 inches in diameter and the measurement between the gimbals is 4 inches. There is a crack in the glass that is clearly shown in the photos. The watch mechanism is mounted in a gimballed, solid brass case. The wooden box does not have any mounting for the watch, so probably is not original.
