An exceptionally nice post WWI/pre WW II Australian Lithgow 1907 bayonet and scabbard. Overall the bayonet retains much of its original finish, blade retains most original finish and retains the correct factory sharpening, edge shows a couple of very very minor nicks. The blade is very clearly marked at the left ricasso with the Lithgow shield above LITHGOW above 1919. The right ricasso with 2 Lithgow stars A within, the bending mark and broad arrow with Lithgow inspectors stamp. Tang, crossguard and pommel retaining finish fading to a pleasant patina.
Military District mark (Eastern Command New South Wales) and a rifle No. Maple with the left marked. Are very good to excellent showing normal wear and a couple of very minor dings from carry. The scabbard marked at the seam with LITHGOW and Star 1921 the chape and locket with LITHGOW star marking and body nice and strong with sound stitching. An exceptionally nice early LITHGOW in excellent condition with a very sound and strong scabbard.
