German Artillery Officer Sword Etched Blade In True Feast WW1

This is a good example of a German Bavarian Artillery Sword which dates from the World War 1 Era. It is mounted with a curved blade that measures 33 inches in length which remains in nice, original condition with just some minor surface blemishes and is beautifully etched on either side "In Treue Fest".

The plated stirrup guard remains very nice in its condition and frames a composite covered hilt that although reflects light damage, does remain tight and sturdy. The black lacquered scabbard is a bit scuffed but does remain in good serviceable condition with just a couple of dings near the drag. Overall measuring 40 3/8 inches in length.
