Here is a German pair of military WW1 binoculars. On the side they have DIENST-GLAS XII-17 other side C.
Very good all round condition these with hardly any paint loss. Bakelite eye parts very nice as well. Leather strap is fine and quality period. They come in an original brown leather case.... The case again is in remarkable condition apart from the 2 side fastenings..
These have been broken and glued.. The case itself is very good with the under straps for the belt attachment. The makers name is Goerz and its stamped behind the metal loop at the front. Open the lid and you will see the wording is in English and retailed by John Barker & Co of Kensington London. They are in collectable condition with normal signs of age and use wear. The paintwork on the metal is worn in places. The sights down the lenses are clear but there is some. Around the very edges of them. The case is worn, especially on the corners and edges. The side straps have had some repair work done to them including gluing a new piece of leather underneath them.
