Ided WWI 82nd Company USMC Service Green Blouse With War Service Certificate. Service Green blouse named to Walter R. Turner who was an original member of the 82nd Company.
Turner originally participated in combat operations in the Toulon Sector where he became ill and was hospitalized thus causing him to miss the battle of Belleau Wood. Turner rejoined his company and took part in the Soisson, St. Mihiel and battle of Blanc Mont where on October 3rd he was grievously wounded. This Blouse also comes with his War Service Certificate and full Service File. The uniform is unnamed as is common during that period but it came from a very reputable dealer/collector and the War Service Certificate is the provenance on this piece because they all came together.
When I received the uniform the 3/6 shoulder patch had been removed but you could clearly see the outline of where it once was... So I found and reattached a correct original 3/6 patch. There are a few moth nips as shown but overall this is in very nice condition. This is an early pattern tunic (1912 pattern) that was period altered to make it a 1917 pattern blouse with the addition of the two lower pockets. Please feel free to ask any questions...
