This is the fourth set Ive found of US WWI steel helmets paired with German WWI steel helmets. Its the second set Ive found with a French Model 1915. The German helmet looks to be stamped L66 as far as I can tell. This would be a Bell manufactured piece.
The French helmet was struck by a bullet and is dented. The American Model 1917 is nice overall on the exterior, but has a stacking line. All helmets are exactly as found. They havent been cleaned or repaired. Unfortunately, you cant turn travel back in time to late 1918 to scour the battlefields for souvenirs yourself, but owning this grouping is the next best thing!
