Manufactured under license to Vickers by the Irish government. Helmet has NEW replacement badge and I do believe it is a reproduction chin strap, one mount of which is bent (see photos). The liner is intact with all tabs present. Some genius spray painted the inside of the helmet black, which got onto the liner.
It was my intent to clean it, but since the paint on the outside is all removed, there didn't seem to be a point. Thinning down my collection and decided to get this nice looking piece to another collector's home. A fairly rare helmet and I think it's the most interesting of the non-German'Stahelm' (steel helmet) types. I do my best todescribe each item auctioned. When you bidyou've entered into a contract.
Added 6/27: Liner is marked T. SMITH & SON, Dublin, 1927, L large? All tabs and fabric pads are present, leather liner band is loose from rivets (all present). Message me for photos if need be.
