This is not an example of Trench Art, but a factory made shaker, although they did use an authentic brass shell. This cocktail shaker marked "Fac-Simile Eighteen Pounder Shrapnel Shell" and was made during the early 20th century, WWI period.
As you can see in our photographs, this shaker has surface wear and scratches to the nickel, as well as several small removable dents and an area of corrosion to the copper. Also, it looks like the top has been dropped leaving a dent on the small cap and has made it difficult to take on and off. This rare shaker is complete, including the inner strainer and removable chrome glass holder that fits in the shell..
