For your consideration is an extremely rare Freikorps era helmet of the Grenzshutz Ost (Border Defense East). Model 1918, size: ET64, no chinstrap, intact headliner with proper M18 steel liner band. Overall condition is very good. Grenzshutz Ost was comprised of a number of volunteer units (Freikorps and Einwohnerwehr - or "militia" in English) founded December 1, 1918 to provide local resistance to raids and invasion attempts by Polish militia. The group officially dissolved after the signing of the Versailles dictate whereby the area in and around Posen and West Prussia were give to Poland.
