Beautiful Francois Borgel Solid Sterling Silver Case. Hallmarked with the Borgel stamp, 925 for Sterling Silver, U for 1915 and import to London. Classic Trench Watch with Wire Lugs. Large 34.5mm case with 12mm wire lugs. Lovely Damaskeening on the movement.
It has been working intermittently so it will need a service. It has not been timed and there are no guarantees. It winds well and the hands set nicely.
It dismantled and reassembled properly, the threads are in good working condition. In very nice unrestored condition. The dial is in very good condition with a number of hairlines and two faint surface chips near the 3 and the 5. There is an old repair to one of the Lugs where it joins the case. Both of the Wire Lugs exhibit distortion from use.There is a small indentation to the side of the case near the number 8. Acrylic Crystal is clean and clear. New Leather Two Piece Trench Watch Strap. There is overall wear, marks and scuffs commensurate with age and use.
