Original WW 1 German Helmet converted to coal scuttle just after the War

This Helmet started its life worn by a WW 1 German Soldier. After being bought back to England as a final insult is was turned into a coal scuttle! Judging by the ironwork this was done just after hostilities ceased.

I have heard these Helmets being referred to as Coal scuttles this one literally is. Whether you continue to use it as a Scuttle or convert it back into a Helmet is up to you. Part of its History now + a good example of the English sense of Humour from the time!
