Original WWI Imperial German Kriegsmarine Officer Sword Alexander Coppel Naval
Offered is a rare inter war, Wiemar Era German Naval Officers Sword with Scabbard. Blade is marked Alexander Coppel, ASC Solingen. Features an ornate gilded brass guard, with floral designs & central fouled anchor. Lions head pommel & etched lions mane back strap is superb, folding guard and lock move solidly with folding lock. Stamped with Reichsmarine MWaA mark (a stylized eagle with closed wings over a gothic "M") which was used until 1938, well into the Kriegsmarine period.
Sword locks firmly onto the upper scabbard. Top scabbard locket is loose. The brass wire bound ivorine grip is in very fine condition, but does have a couple of slight cracks.
