Original World War I U. The jacket is very nicely made which leads me to believe that it is a Tailor-made Tunic even though I could not find a tailor's tag.
I also believe the fabric is Gabardine because of the twill weave look. The left sleeve features a hand applied two wool backed metallic gold "tape" Overseas Chevrons denoting 12 months of service in the Theater of Operations in France.
It also has a red Honorable Discharged Chevron. The right sleeve has a wool Motor Transport Corps Corporal's Patch. The Tunic has no collar discs. Complete with all original U. Army General Service Type Eagle buttons which are brown and appear to be made of Bakelite.
Considering the age of this tunic, the condition is unbelievable nice. There are no rips, tears, stains or discoloration.A nice example of a summer time World War I A. I have other uniforms listed and will be listing more WWI items related to the U. Please keep checking my listings as I have many more items related U. Like the other World War I items I have listed, this uniform is part of my forty year old collection that I will be thinning out. I have described the Tunic to the best of my abilities.
