Original WWI US Army M1917 helmet with painted 2nd Infantry Division insignia. Offered is an original WWI period US Army M1917 helmet with painted 2nd Infantry Division insignia as shown. Helmet appears to have most of its original olive drab paint on a semi-smooth base; most of the textured finish is gone. No holes, dents or cracks. Edge rim is present, showing old rust. Interior has a dry but flexible, intact leather chinstrap as shown. Has a GREAT 2nd Infantry Division insignia painted to the front, done during the period of use.
