Here is a good quality gentlemans watch in a silver case 34mm. Diameter hallmarked for London import 1912.
The wire lugs are strong and have never been distorted. The original glass - not plastic - is undamaged. The dial is perfect, no chips or cracks.
It has the name of the retailer in Edinburgh. Hands are original and matched. The clean high grade movement winds sets and runs well, keeping time. Although unmarked, it looks like a Cyma, a reputable make.
The back of the case is engraved Dearest from Dorothy 25th. From the quality and condition of the watch it is clear that Dorothy was generous and that Dearest may not have survived the first war.The watch is fitted with a new strap.
