Pre WWI German Prussian Infantry Officer's Degen Sword model M1889 Estate Item

Nice piece considering it's 100 year old + age. You will probably find similar items in superior condition as well as others not so nice. This item is complete with the steel scabbard and original portepee. Photos are written description are a straight forward representation of this item. This is a very nice example of a German Prussian Infantry Officer Sword Model 1889. The straight multi-fullered blade measures 28 1/4 inches in length. The overall length placed in the scabbard is 39. The blade remains in very good original condition yet it does show some age.

The detailed guard is adorned with the Prussian Eagle and features a front folding guard face. Shows nicely with patina of age present, and frames a lovely fishskin covered hilt that is very good in its condition and with its twisted wire wrap still securely in place. The metal scabbard is lightly scuffed but does remain in very nice serviceable condition as well and does have a ding or two.
