Pre-WWI US Army M1910 T-Handle Shovel 1st Pattern withUS Markings RARE #1

Early pre-WWI Era AEF US Army M1910 T-Handle Shovel - 1st Pattern - for the M1910 Haversack Pack - w/US Markings - Original - Very NICE Condition - RARE. Up for Sale is an Early pre-WWI Era AEF US Army M1910 T-Handle Shovel. This is the 1st pattern shovel. The 1st pattern shovel have only one tang on the spade to attach it to the handle.

The later and much more common 2nd pattern shovel has two tangs on the spade. The shovel still have much of the original paint. It has the US markings on the wooden handle, no markings on the spade.

The metal spade has the typical surface rust and pitting, that you normally find on these shovels. The wooden handle have some minor cracks, nothing major. Please see photo's for condition. This shovel was used with both the M1910 & the M1928 Haversack Pack System. 1st pattern T-Handle shovels are extremely difficult to find.
